Where is the ceremony and reception?
Both the ceremony and reception will be at Stratton Mountain Resort. This is also where we have a block of rooms for overnight hotel accommodations. You can find hotel and travel information on our Travel & Lodging tab.
What is the dress code?
The dress code for our wedding is Cocktail Attire. Women are asked to wear a cocktail dress or a formal jumpsuit. Men are asked to wear a suit and ties.
Please note that our ceremony will take place atop Stratton Mountain. There is a brief walk on a gravel/dirt path to the ceremony site after you get off the gondola. Please plan your footwear accordingly.
Can I bring a plus one or my children?
Plus ones are by invitation only, and we ask you to please not bring a plus one unless specified on your invitation.
As much as we'd love to invite your children, this is an adults-only event. We hope that you can understand this decision and that you'll still be able to attend.
If you do have children who are not invited to the event that you wish to travel with, please don't hesitate to get in touch with Dan or Taylor for a list of resort-recommended childcare providers. There are also multi-bedroom condo units available in Longtrail and Hearthstone if you wish to bring your own childcare provider or family members to stay with you while you attend our wedding.
Thank you so much for understanding!
I am hadicapped/have limited mobility. Will I be able to access the ceremony at the top of the mountain?
The ski gondola is handicap-accessible and wheelchair friendly. There are also enclosed UTVs available at the top of the mountain to drive you from the gondola summit to the ceremony space, to avoid the short walk. However, there is a flight of stairs to get to the full ceremony space.
We highly recommend arriving at the Gondola pickup point early if you have mobility issues, to ensure you have plenty of time to safely get settled at our ceremony location. If you have any questions regarding ceremony accessibility, please don't hesitate to reach out to Dan or Taylor.
Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?
A combination! Our wedding ceremony is planned to be outdoors on the top of Stratton Mountain. If there is inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved indoors.
Our cocktail hour and reception will be indoors, but there is access to an outdoor deck.
How do I get to the ceremony at the top of Stratton Mountain?
To get to our ceremony, you will need to take the Gondola to the top of the mountain. Gondola rides will begin at 2:30 p.m., and we ask that you be at the Gondola pickup point no later than 3:15 p.m.
After the Gondola, there is a brief walk on a dirt/gravel path to the ceremony location. If you have limited mobility, there are enclosed UTVs that can drive you from the Gondola drop-off to the steps of the ceremony location.
Finally, there is a set of stairs with railings to get to the ceremony location.
We highly recommend arriving at the Gondola pickup point early if you have mobility issues, to ensure you have plenty of time to safely get settled at our ceremony location. If you have any questions regarding ceremony accessibility, please don't hesitate to reach out to Dan or Taylor.
What time should I arrive to the ceremony?
Our ceremony will begin at 4 p.m. sharp atop Stratton Mountain. To get to the top of the mountain, you'll need to take a 15-minute gondola ride up. We ask that you arrive at the base of the gondola at 2:30 p.m., and no later than 3:15 p.m.
Will there be an open bar?
Of course! There will be a full open bar for the entire evening.
Can I take pictures during your ceremony?
No. We have hired a professional photographer to capture our entire day and ask that you respect our request to not take pictures during our ceremony. We will remind all guests to not take pictures at the start of our ceremony.
Is the resort walkable? Is there a shuttle service?
Yes to both! The entire resort is walkable. Walking from Black Bear Lodge (the furthest lodging building) to the Gondola pick-up site will take approximately 5 minutes. It will take even less coming from Long Trail or Hearthstone.
But if you have limited mobility or difficulty walking, there is a shuttle service available for all lodging buildings. Shuttle time information will be added closer to the wedding date.
The shuttle service will be available all evening, bringing you to the Gondola pick up and back from the reception. More information regarding shuttle times and pick up locations will be available closer to the wedding.
I have a dietary restriction, can you accomodate?
We will have a vegan and gluten-free dinner option available. For any other dietary restrictions, please reach out to Dan or Taylor directly.
